A LANDMARK
OF THE CITY

THE FIRST STEP

In 1960, Provident Fund of ΟΤΕ SA proceeded to the purchase of a land of10,000 sq.m. with the obligation to construct the hotel.
THE OPENING OF THE CITY’S NEW LANDMARK

In 1971, “Makedonia Palace” construction was completed. The Grand Opening was conducted on the 26th of October the same year. Makedonia Palace became the new landmark of Thessaloniki.
A HISTORIC SPEECH

Makedonia Palace granted a balcony of its 4th floor for a historical speech of Constantine Karamanlis, Prime Minister of Greece of that time. It was one of the greatest political speeches in the history of modern Greece.
THE AMBITIOUS “REMAKE” PROJECT

Thessaloniki’s point of reference enters a total renovation process, with a completion forecast in May 2017. The ambitious plan of the hotel’s renovation aims to further enhance its services while supporting the development of tourism in the region.

The REUSE
Project

Through the REUSE program, Thessaloniki’s historical hotel offered to 17 organizations, charities and various organizations of Thessaloniki and the wider region of Central Macedonia, the entire room equipment and most of the objects of communal spaces. The hotel's equipment was used to improve the facilities of the institutions and its residents’ life.
