Makedonia Palace Hotel and Executive Chef Sotiris Evangelou are hosting Lemnos Philema, a unique gastronomic event that will take you on a journey through the flavors and aromas of Lemnos.

On November 10th, 11th, and 12th, at the Salonica Restaurant, the stars of the show will be the products and wines of Lemnos. Cheeses, local legumes, flour, and seafood, along with wines and other unique products from the island, will inundate the hotel’s kitchen and be presented in dishes that chef Sotiris Evangelou and his team have designed with Lemnian cooks Maria Kalligeri and Michalitsa Kagi, incorporating the chef’s culinary principles and adding authenticity to the restaurant’s cuisine.

Makedonia Palace Hotel has launched a special programme in cooperation with the Hellenic Red Cross in support of Greece’s flood victims in the region of Thessaly.

With every booking that is made at Makedonia Palace Hotel, part of the room’s rate will be donated to the Red Cross. This initiative aims at gathering as much money as possible that will be used by the Hellenic Red Cross to provide relief to families that have been affected by the floods caused by Storm Daniel.

The flood victims of Thessaly need our solidarity, which is why Makedonia Palace Hotel is working closely with the Hellenic Red Cross in support of the relief efforts that are already underway in the region. The Hellenic Red Cross has been at the front line from the start and has been carrying out various actions trying to help the flood victims, and the contribution of Makedonia Palace Hotel will help alleviate the crisis that the region is facing.

The General Manager of Makedonia Palace Hotel Mr Alkiviadis Sotiriou stated: “Thessaly is facing a critical situation following the deadly floods that hit the region, and in these difficult times we considered it our obligation to support the local communities and the efforts of the Red Cross. Solidarity is a fundamental principle for Makedonia Palace Hotel and with the programme that we have launched –donating an amount of every booking– we hope that we will be able to contribute to the region’s recovery.”
